The last of my 2018 weddings, Victoria & Sebastian’s day was just wonderful.
Having grown up in Jersey Victoria wanted to ‘come home’ to marry in the beautiful St. Brelade’s Church, where both her parents and grandparents had been wed.
It was also important to the couple to show off the best of Jersey to their friends from all over the world and particularly Sebastian’s Colombian family.
From the outset Victoria’s vision was of bringing the outdoors inside and of lots of Autumnal colours and local produce.
When the couple mentioned wanting a ‘Hogwarts’ feel, there was really only one perfect Jersey venue – the Great Hall at Victoria College – fortuitous as the bride’s father, brother and many of their guests were Old Victorians.
The weather was a perfect bright, cool October day and the couple was able to stop on the way from Church to have some time alone and pose for some stunning Autumn images with their photographer, the wonderful Max Burnett.
On arrival at Victoria College experienced professional Simon Harper and his fabulous catering team welcomed guests with outdoor drinks and canapés in the stunning school grounds.
The couple wanted a gin bar, with some chosen gin cocktails and lots of yummy accompaniments run by the super duper bartenders from My Home Event.
Gin was very much a theme throughout including table plan and names.
Favours were very apt with the Colombian guests receiving English Tea and the Brits Colombian coffee beans.
Cocktail hour was accompanied by Adria Godfrey and her glorious Latin band Alegria then, once the gorgeous cake, by Flour, was cut the fab Ben Newman DJ’d for the rest of the night.
El Fuego dished up flavoursome arepas to keep the Latin theme alive and the guests dancing.
A truly magical day.
