Just the two of us…

Back in July 2017 I was privileged to plan and orchestrate the wonderful wedding of Petra and Tommi.

two of us

This fabulous couple lives in Wiesbaden, Germany and had visited Jersey the previous year and fallen in love with it (well, of course they’re not alone in that).

Petra contacted me a few months beforehand and explained that they wanted to come to Jersey, just the two of them, and celebrate their marriage in a very laid back, outdoorsy style with a ‘really English’ feel.

We had a series of meetings via Skype and really got to know each other.

Petra was brilliant at sending over Pinterest boards of their ideas and showing me the kinds of cake, flowers, transport, photography etc they wanted ……. I love it when I connect so easily with clients and feel I can really serve them well.

They had already decided upon the ‘white house‘ (aka Le Don Hilton) as their beachside venue, having visited it on holiday, and they knew they would breakfast at the island’s renowned ‘Big Vern’s‘ before embarking on their fun packed ceremony, all English picnic then a tour around the island taking shots in beauty spots. Tommi wanted an Austin Healey to drive himself and his bride and wow they looked superb in ‘Frogeye’ below.

So intimate was this ‘just the two of us’ wedding that Dasa (photographer extraordinaire) and I were Petra and Tommi’s witnesses – an honour I have never had before as a planner!

So, have a look at what we did together…..

The lovely ‘white house’ at St Ouen.

Petra’s gorgeous bouquet created by the glorious Clara of Wilde Thyme.

Delightful stationery created by Quints of Jersey.

Picnic style meal post ceremony. Thank you to Rustic Rentals and Marquee Solutions for your furniture and accessory hire.

Petra had decided upon her cake designer from afar and was doubly delighted by the taste! Thank you Ceri’s Cakes.

Our picture postcard ‘just the two of us’ couple with the iconic Mont Orgueil in the background.

Petra and Tommi dancing their first dance in the St Ouen sand dunes to Westlife’s ‘Flying Without Wings’.

They then proceeded to ‘trash the dress’ in the water (as you can imagine, with an ever increasing audience).

This crazy couple finished their day with pink and blue hand paints – enough said!

This was a truly magical day for all of us involved with the most wonderful clients. Thank you Petra and Tommi for trusting us all with your ‘long distance’ day. We had a ball!

We were lucky enough to have the wedding published by the gorgeous English Wedding blog for which thank you Claire.
