Keen to become a Wedding Planner?

I know a few of our subscribers here are, or are keen to become, a wedding planner, or have an interest in planning weddings and events.

I therefore thought I would take the opportunity to let you know about the various educational programs we offer via The UK Alliance of Wedding Planners which I co-own with my colleague Bernadette Chapman.

The UKAWP is the industry body for weddng planners, and for other suppliers in the wedding industry who like to work with professional planners. Its primary purpose is to promote professionalism in wedding planning in an otherwise unregulated industry, something Bernadette and I care passionately about.

We offer two main courses, Business Practicalities which includes all you need to know about setting up your business and marketing to your ideal clientele, and Step By Step which takes you through running a wedding from start to finish, working with your clients and suppliers.

You can see upcoming dates for both courses on our Training Page. Both are taught as small classroom based courses or, if you prefer, one to one. Once you have attended a course, you are eligible to apply for our entry level Membership – Associate Member.

We also offer a Mentoring scheme whereby you are allocated one of the two of us as your personal Mentor, working with us over a 12 week period on whichever elements of your business you wish. Details here.

If you are interested in either please don’t hesitate to contact me via sandy@ukawp.com or email training@ukawp.com direct.
