Corporate Events – A Midsummer Fairytale Ball

Last Summer we had great fun helping Mike and his wife Kate put on a fabulous party celebrate the tenth anniversary of Mike’s business proving that corporate events can be a whole lot of fun. However it was also their wedding anniversary and their daughters’ birthdays which made for lots to party about…..

Mike had lots of creative ideas and decided to create Shrek’s swamp in their garden for the drinks reception, which we did with the help of prop hire company Keeley Hire.

The Aldbury Kitchen devised scary looking cocktails and disgusting looking, yet hugely tasty, canapes to be eaten in the swamp – and we hung some unsavoury looking characters which, by the way, did not form part of dinner!

Guests dressed up, ‘disgusting but tasty’ food in Shrek’s swamp, great little people who entertained us

Chesham Marquees created the backdrop for our Castle from Far, Far Away, to which our fancy dressed fairytale guests walked for dinner and dancing, via the enchanted forest, eerily lit by BDJC Events.

Everyone came as a fairytale character, however Snow White didn’t need to invite dwarves: we hired two wonderful little people, one of whom even ate fire for us, from Dwarf Management.

Even the staff dressed up, including the gorgeous serving wenches and our own Sandy, who can be seen below, complete with wings, lighting candles before the feast.

The evening went fabulously and guests were wowed when, after their meal, they wandered back to Shrek’s swamp, to discover a bucking unicorn had miraculously appeared.
