Wearing my other hat

Today I thought I would share a bit about what I do when I’m wearing my other hat and not working with my lovely event, party and wedding clients.

As well as ternevents I am lucky enough to co-own The UK Alliance of Wedding Planners, the industry body for wedding planners.

My fabulous business partner Bernadette and I strive to bring as much professionalism into an otherwise unregulated industry as possible via training courses, our membership scheme and a Code of Business Practice to which all members must adhere.

We both absolutely love running our training courses, coaching wedding industry colleagues and helping members build and showcase their businesses through membership.

So when I’m off island, don’t think I am ‘getting off the rock to go shopping’: much as I love to, and occasionally try to, I am usually to be found with a classroom of would be or newbie planners or meeting with members to discuss their own particular ‘way forward’.

Having recently rebranded the UKAWP, we have opened our doors to great Wedding Supplier Partners too: businesses who enjoy working with professional planners and provide excellence in their field. Why? Because it’s not just the planner who’s involved in wedding planning, but a superb team of likeminded individuals working towards the goal of delivering the perfect day for their mutual clients.

Wearing my other hat or my ternevents one I am eternally grateful for both my businesses and the wonderful people I meet, be they clients, colleagues or students.

Here’s to another great year for everyone involved in weddings and events and of course all you wonderful clients and couples.

Happy planning all!
